From an early age, I was a creatively minded individual. I loved to draw and sketch. I was always told that I had a good eye for seeing the artistic side of things. For years I wanted to be a cartoonist or a comic book artist. Throughout my elementary school years I spent my time doodling away. It was in elementary school where I first encountered computers and took to them rather quickly. It became just as much of a passion as drawing was to me. Over the years my interest in art and computers flourished. I continued to study fine art and art history on through high school. I learned basic principles of art and sketching which brought a higher level of realism to my work, one above the cartoon style I had before. After high school I took an interest in photography. This interest in capturing art as I see it in the tangible world led to my introduction to design programs like Adobe Photoshop for the computer, thus allowing me to combine my two passions, art and computers. It was the coupling of these two hobbies that led to me attending classes at Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts in York, PA. All of this history has helped to develop my varied and adaptable artistic style. I am able to take unassuming and seemingly everyday things and bring out the artistic beauty of them in diverse ways, showing the art in life. Alternatively, I can create works from nothing, thereby bring art into life. As the saying goes, life imitates art and art imitates life. I do my best to share this idea with my work. |
